What started out so promising for the Senior Tigers, slowly turned sour in Saturday’s conference championship game in Livingston. Marred by the mud and momentum, the Tigers fell to the Overton County Outlaws, 18-6 to finish the season second in the conference.

If the Junior Tigers needed more momentum headed into the Middle Tennessee Youth Football Conference playoffs next weekend, they now certainly have it. In two games the Tigers have scored a combined 88 points and have given up a grand total of 0 to their last two opponents.

When the Smith County Owls traveled to Smithville Saturday morning they were undefeated and sitting atop the conference, tied with Overton County for first place. When they traveled back to Carthage, they were sitting in third place, looking up at DeKalb in the standings.

The DC Pewees took another big step forward Saturday, knocking off rival Smith County in a defensive struggle, 6-0. The team’s second win of the season was a total team effort as DeKalb would never allow Smith County to get into any semblance of an offensive groove throughout the game.
