During lavender season, Flat Top Mountain Farm offers exclusive Photographer Access Days every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. These days are reserved for professional photographers and scheduled photography sessions only, giving you a peaceful setting to create beautiful images without public traffic.

Decoration Day on Flat Top Mountain has been a tradition in our community for generations. 🇺🇸

Local families would gather at cemeteries across the mountain to clean graves, place flowers, share meals, and remember loved ones who came before them. Long before Memorial Day became nationally recognized, these mountain communities were already carrying on the tradition of honoring the ones who passed on each spring.

A correction to our post — Decoration Day on the mountain began in 1895, not 1853.

Today, families still gather at places like Bowman Cemetery to continue a tradition that has been passed down for generations here on Flat Top Mountain.

Some traditions are worth carrying on.
