I finally feel liberated.

As a millennial, I feel like I was raised to not only hate my body, but I needed to hide it too.

Now with having almost a solid 40 years on this rock under my belt, I’ve learned to accept my body as she is.

The freckles & wrinkles.
The scars & stretch marks.
The no ni***es.

I may not love my body, but I don’t hate her anymore.

Feeling safe in your space begins with the one we literally live in; Our own body.

Starting a health journey, physical or mental, IMO is the hardest part.

It’s painful & exciting.
Discouraging & hopeful
Painful & joyful.

It’s about re-learning that we can make it thru the hard days.

That there is light & life during this journey that reminds us of WHY we keep trying.

Using a standard size blood pressure cuff.

Before my weightloss & arm lift, my upper arm was bigger than an adult thigh cuff & honestly I avoided monitoring because of my embarrassment.

Today I no longer think about it! I’ve been off all BP meds for years & & actually run a little on the low side.

We all start somewhere.

I don’t have many pictures at my heaviest because I was newly postpartum & I wasn’t ready to see my post baby body.

But the time came. I knew that I needed to reconnect because life is going to continue whether I am present or not.

And I wanted to be present.

Decisions were hard. LOTS of pivots. You will lose community. And the motivation will disappear.

But you, my darling, will find your flow.

A consistency that creates a stable new way of life that works for YOU.

Don’t follow anyone else’s timeline but your own.
