6 facking years ago Bee and I sailed Hedgehog, our Westerly windrush 22’ to the Bahamas from Marathon, fl. On that trip we learned many things about our little nugget of a sailboat. Here are two of the most important. She doesn’t carry enough fuel to get anywhere with a 1972 2 stroke 9.9 strapped on the back. Two, she sails like a pig. 3 days later we hit the VERY upper Abacos. If we have dwarfism (that’s what it corrected for guardian, but I like it better) angels I’m pretty sure ours are drinkers and have a pretty good sense of humor. Things could have gone very poorly for the crew of the good ship Hedgehog that day. Cheers to keep’n it fun .

I’m still sad we sold that 4Runner in Guatemala. 😭

There she goes! It’s not a time out or a punishment. Tarka babes needs some money poured into her bilge, as do most yachts from the earlier eighties. S**t, my body could use a tune up too. Tarka goes on ice for the time being. Danny at Triton Yachts took such good care of our baby on the road he even threw out a fender to keep off the other garbage road boats.
Sailcraft Service/M&J Marine, LLC Did a stellar job of pick’n our train wreck onto the hauling trailer. Our boat is super dope in all ways… except when you want her to be a normal yacht. Team Triton and team sail craft had to deal with my mother henning and they got her rolling safely before I had a god damn heart attack.

Most of my adult life I have spent biting off way more than I can chew. In this round 🐝 and I purchased a 130 year old house in Oriental, NC. Half sunk into the ground, seemed like a bargaining chip as it was! But little did I know I would end up spending 4 days in 90+ heat jacking up the house in the 14” crawl space with my buddy . Friends come and BBQ, brothers come when things are dark. We poured footers, jacked the house, built out some girders, sistered some s**t in and still had some time to get blind drunk. Boat friends are the best. Would I do it for them? Well now I have to. So, yes?

Customer: I know it’s late in the week but I have a small tear in my sail that I need fixed by the weekend. It’d really be a bummer if you couldn’t get it fixed by the weekend. Maybe you could recut it?

Me once I get it laid out/dried out: “recut it into pieces and put it in the trash? “

Update: I have 7 hours into this pig. It’s almost a sail again and yes by the weekend. I hope you’re kids enjoy the memories. I’ll be here…😂🤣

The boss lady in her element. Basically a duck in water. I’m glad she gets this s**t; it’s way above my pay grade. I just sell triangles and operate on garbage sails like a M.A.S.H surgeon. “Don’t die on me, you son of a bitch!” The owner wants this 40 year old sail to last another season… cool… cool…

Sooooo.... We've been a little preoccupied lately and haven't been putting out consistent content and the reason is....drum roll please....we bought a sail loft!!!! Inner Banks Sails & Canvas in Oriental, North Carolina is now run by the Litzenbergers!!! Want to hear more about the whole deal (and also Spencer going off topic about the Clubhouse app)? We have been MIA for the past 3 weeks and it's all because we bought Inner Banks Sails & Canvas, a sail loft in Oriental, North Carolina!! Yup, we are swallowing the anchor, but we'll still be putting out content and we'll be talking about all things sailing and now sail work!! We're super excit...
