First quarter of the trip inside with spectacular scenery 🤩 Passed the Pointe Au Baril which literally means “Point with the Barrel” a barrel with a lantern was used to mark the point before the Lighthouse was built in 1889.

There were some hairpin turns and seriously skinny water on the inside 😳 so we went ”outside “❗️

Day 160 🌦️Thursday, August 6th

Departed Three Finger Bay 0820

Traveled 20mi/3hr10min to Parry Sound

The ladies had coffee on the bow with the intention of enjoying the ride there, but it was too cold and rainy 🥶 ☔️

Beautiful scenery continues 🤩 Passed Henry’s, navigated a few narrow passages and pulled over in a wide spot to allow a large work barge go by

The Wasauksing swing bridge at the entrance to Parry Sound opens on a strict schedule ⏰ We thought we could squeak under 🧐but with Carla standing on the cooler determined it was a definite NO GO ‼️waited for the 11 o’clock opening and followed “Holiday” thru

Went to Chucks for a quick beer and nachos with Cap and Deb before we had to say our “See you later” 🍻 😘

Did a walk about town stopping in at the Whole Foods for a little provisioning 😋

Stopped in Legends, a local distillery for a cocktail🍸🥃 and added a Canadian whiskey to the ship stores

The Trussel Brewery for dinner 🍻 smoked Trout charcuterie and a Reuben Sandwich 😋 good stuff

Cleve rode his bike to the gas station and picked up a gallon for the dinghy ⛽️

Fun, eventful day 🤩 missing Cap and Deb 💗see yall again soon

Day 158 😎 Tuesday, August 4th

Departed “Penetang” town dock at 0930 ☀️traveled 37.4 miles/4hours 35 minutes to Three Finger Bay Anchorage ⚓️

Interesting ride across Georgian Bay 🤩 very nice scenery with homes dotted all over the rocky islands 🏡 boats of all shapes and sizes

Deb: “We are swinging on a hook in Three Finger Bay next to Frying Pan Island” - can’t make this stuff up 🤣

Dropped the dinghy and the paddle board… Cap and Cleve took Summer to the Park dock 🐾 found a rustic fire pit and cooking Grate

The girls each took a turn on the paddle board while the guys got in the water 💧 🏄‍♀️ Crystal clear, but Cold 🥶 Fresh water!

We grilled steaks and veggies for dinner and watched a beautiful sunset.

Most relaxing day in a while

Day 157 😎Monday, August 3rd

Day 13 Trent Severn
Lock 45 -Port Severn

2hr 12 min/ 15.3 miles/1 lock to Penetanguishene “Penetang”

Walked to the Trading Post Cabin for coffee and Bagels 😋

Departed Starport Marina, Port Severn, at 10:00 🕙 traveled less that 1/2 mile to the LAST Trent Severn Lock 🤗 1st conventional lock for Cap and Deb

Buoys reverse (move the Red GPS puck to the other side)❣️ NO Margin for error

Very Narrow, Curvy Channel exiting the lock and under the Hwy 400 bridge… whole new meaning for blind spot 🫣

Made several security calls that were totally ignored by 3 boats forcing us to back up and hold in a current twice ‼️

We are now in Georgian Bay 🤩Nice ride across the Bay with a few hard turns and narrow cuts to “Penetang”

Beers and Poutine (Deb said sounded 🤢 but loved the Poutine 😋) at Flynn’s Irish Pub

Visited the beautiful, Granite, Saint Ann’s Catholic Church and offered prayers ⛪️

Stopped at the local grocery for a few provisions and back to the boat where the guys installed the new Sun Screen on the front windshield ( Shout out to Dixie Seat Cover ❣️)

Charcuterie for dinner 😋🍷🥃

Great day shared with cherished friends ☀️

We neglected to purchase the “Trained” Fishing Worms🤦🏻‍♀️🎣🤣

Trent Severn Day 12 - The Big Chute -

The Caps arrived Early this morning 💖Carla’s heart is happy🤗

Moved YKnotNow over to The Chute Blue Wall 😎 It’s overcast and drizzling rain, but too excited to care

Wow, just Wow ‼️ In The Chute, up and over land, dropped back in the water on the other side🤩 quite the experience ❣️

Short ride over to Port Severn, Starport Marina - fuel, pump out and docked before 11

Took a walk about town ☔️visited the General Store for a few supplies (Yes, Deb picked up a sweatshirt ) and enjoyed a fabulous, afternoon coffee and a cookie with great friends💞at the cutest shop ☕️

Super Nice dinner at Rawley’s Restaurant 😋 Mussels and Beef Carpaccio app, Braised short ribs and seared Pickerel… Nice wine selection and cocktails 🍷🥃🍸

Lovely day catching up with Cap and Deb 🥰 and quite the experience going over The Chute

Day 155 😎Saturday, August 1st

Trent Severn Day 11
2 Locks #42 and 43
5 hours/ 34.6 miles

Cloudy and a little hazy - nice, slick ride … Bridge operator at the CNR Swing bridge opened 10 minutes early for us, nice guy 😊 Passed thru behind “Traveler “

Several narrow, rocky channels to navigate each one opening into lakes with tiny islands dotted with camps… Cleve is trying to talk Carla into a summer camp here “Nope, too cold” 🥶

Tied up at Big Chute Marina… “Traveler” tied up on the blue wall and we watched her go thru the chute 🤩 will ride the Chute with Cap and Deb tomorrow ❣️Looks super cool 😎

Note : Water at the Marina is not potable❗️ straight out of the lake 😳

Dinner at the Marina restaurant 😋 mini corn dog app and a burger… 2 man band playing for ambiance

Day 154 😎 Friday, July 31st

Trent Severn day 10
29 mi/5 locks /7 hrs Locks 37-41

All down bound locks today ☀️ so much easier than moving up … great view from the top of the lock👀 Lots if skinny water and narrow channels 😬
Traveled with Wade-ing around most of the day- they took the starboard wall, we took the Port

Voltage got a little low with all the stops and starts- time to crank the generator ❗️lots of grass in the river and the locks, quickly clogged the strainer on the generator 🙄

After lock 41, we had a long, slick ride across Lake Simcoe to Orillia Marina😎

Numerous loopers at Orillia💖 Docktails to celebrate Rick (Magdalena) birthday in the boaters lounge 🥳

Pizza turned into a VERY good Italian
dinner at Rustica Pizza Viorillia😋

Day 153 ☀️ Thursday, July 30th

Trent Severn Day 8 Locks 32-36

Untied from Gordon’’s Yacht Club Bobcaygeon, at 0815 and moved across to tie up on the blue - wall just in front of a houseboat cooking breakfast to wait for the Bobcaygeon - Lock 32 opening…

Original plan was to travel to Lock 34 (there’s no 33) Fenelon Falls known as the Jewel of the Kawarthas - nice idea, precious little town but no room onthe wall 🤷🏻‍♀️ Plan B - Travel thru Rosedale - Lock 35 to Kirkfield #36

Scenic route thru several extremely narrow passages 😬 Cameron Lake to Balsalm Lake

Rosedale #35 is the Summit of the Trent Waterway - the last one going up

Kirkfield #36 is another Hydraulic Lift Lock with a 49’ drop‼️ the 1st going down… super cool - check out the video

Now the Reds and Green swap❗️ Refs to Port; green to Starboard … moved the red external GPS puck to the Left of the compass as a reminder🤓

Tied up at the bottom of the lock

Docktails with Round about, Morning Light and Wade-ing Around 🥃🍷
