When I first got the message about filming Maroons football this season, I was sent the regular game schedule, but was told to plan for a long post season because (and I quote) “this year we’re going to State.” Jacob Gross said it with so much confidence that I never doubted him for a second. I took it as gospel—and he was right!
From open practice on May 16, to media days, to traveling to both ends of the state for games, all the way to yesterday’s state championship—filming this team has been nothing short of incredible. Yes, they’re talented and one of the perks of being their videographer is getting to watch their best plays over and over again, but beyond that, they’re an outstanding group of young men. Documenting their season has been an absolute honor and I have no doubt they’ll be back in the state championship game again in 2026!
