This year’s Connection Car Show will be on September 12, 2026, but we will have additional activities on Friday September 11th. Our event hotel will be Courtyard by Marriott in Cartersville and I have secure a block of rooms, and we will get the preferred rate give to the Savoy Museum. Follow the link below. We are happy to announce that four our upcoming meet for Small Cars we will be going to Cartersville, Georgia, and more specifically the Savoy Automobile Museum as the focal point for the event.
Each year the Savoy hosts The Connection Car Show, consisting of 300 show cars and a little over 3,000 spectators. It is the only show they have each year, and for the first time in the show’s history they have decided to feature a class of cars. Normally, those who attend, are parked as they enter, but the Micros are going to have our own area where we will be able to park up to 30 cars as a group.
Also, there is no entrance fee for the show as we are special guests of the Savoy. This year’s car show will be on September 12, 2026, but we will have additional activities on Friday September 11th. Our event hotel will be Courtyard by Marriott in Cartersville and I am waiting to hear back from the hotel to secure a block of rooms, however they have said that we will get the preferred rate give to the Savoy Museum.

I am happy to announce that our upcoming Micro/Mini gathering at Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals will feature a parade with both Micro and Mini cars. Each year Carlisle Events host a parade during Import and this year our group has been selected. If you have ever been to any of our Micro events in the past, you know, that this group really enjoys parades. If you have not here are a few images of some of our past events. My favorite was the Christmas parade we did in Winter Park, Florida, thanks for organizing that one Billy Paul Hopefully this one will be just as memorable. Micro/Mini Cars at Carlisle Import and Performance
May 15-16, 2026

Every year I look for new ways to improve upon this event, and each year planning begins earlier and earlier. Over the years we have featured countless displays including: Alpine, Brass Era, Citroen, Eastern Block, Fiat, French, Motorized Bikes, Peugeot, Racers, Renault, Scooters and many others. This year we have decided to host our first gathering of Micro and Mini Cars at the Import Show.

I have unique events planned for each day. We hope to have our welcome party on Thursday as we have done in years past. On Friday we will have both a Micro and Mini Toy Drive. On Saturday we kick it off with our weekly meeting at the Middlesex Diner, and go all day with possibly an autocross demonstration at the Carlisle Circuit at lunch. In the afternoon we will have a swap meet as well as car show. Followed by the awards ceremony then say farewell until next we meet.

There is still much to decide, and will also try to fit in a seminar and a tech session or two, who knows maybe a surprise guest! We will update you as these additional activities become set. This is a one of a kind opportunity to see both Micro and Mini Cars from all eras in one unique setting. We hope to see you there!

Carlisle Events looks forward to being our host for the weekend, and they are excited to learn all about the Micro/Mini Car community. They want to extend a special invitation to anyone camping at the show, and allowing them to camp Saturday night (at no additional charges for the extra night). For anyone who is not camping, and even for those not participating in the show, they are allowing us to use the Fairgrounds on Sunday as a meeting point for those who are going on to Virginia. Hello Micro Friends
For many of you this may be my first correspondence since last year's Micros in the Bluegrass event. Sorry for the long delay, but we finally have a direction in regards to our next gathering. We are happy to report that we have selected Cartersville, Georgia, and more specifically the Savoy Automobile Museum as the focal point for the event. Each year the Savoy hosts The Connection Car Show, consisting of 300 show cars and a little over 3,000 spectators. It is the only show they have each year, and for the first time in the show’s history they have decided to feature a class of cars. Normally, those who attend, are parked as they enter, but the Micros are going to have our own area where we will be able to park up to 30 cars as a group.

Normally, there is an entrance fee for the show, but as there has never been a fee to attend this event in over two decades, in all of it iterations, so we were able to secure our spaces at no charge to exhibiters. The only drawback, at this point is, they have not announced the date for next year’s event. At this point The Savoy plans to host next year’s show in September, but they have yet made the date public. With this year’s show being on September 6, 2005 hopefully next years’ date will be made public any day.

Cartersville, has become a hot bed for museums besides the Savoy, possibly the most interesting one for this group will be Old Car City USA, but the Tellus Science and the Booth Western Art Museums are also great choices.

Besides having hands down, the finest museum facilities in the country, they also give tours of the museum’s entire collection, much of which is not open to the public, as well as show car related movies and do car trivia, so hopefully our hosts will indulge us with these activities as well.

So, if you are in the middle of a major restoration or just need minor work on your car, make plans to join us at the Savoy and stay tuned for further details! This Micro gathering is a Bi-annual event, held in the Southeastern United States.

We checked with the host hotel and checked on how many rooms in the reservation block were left and over half of them have been booked, there is only 9 more guaranteed rooms, if you want to make a post! If reservations are not made soon, it will be hard to find a room as the Somenites weekends are really busy

Plans are continuing to firm up for our Micros in the Bluegrass event. We are excited to announce: On Friday, Oct 25th, We will have a scenic drive to Lee’s Ford Marina on beautiful Lake Cumberland where we will enjoy lunch at the marina restaurant as well as offer Amphicar rides to show attendants and marina guest.
