Week of 09/12/2020 - Best of Celtic Connections 1998 to 2004
Celtic Café is embarking on it's 26th year on the air. So in this segment, I celebrate the early years of Celtic Connections with a "Best of 1998 to 2004."

In 1995, Pat was asked to produce an Irish radio program for WMRD/WLIS AM in Middletown, Connecticut. He commenced broadcasting the show weekly in September 1995. Riverdance had premiered earlier that year and record labels like Green Linnet & Shanachie were heavily promoting Irish music. Plus Enya and the entire New-Age Music genre was at its peak.

No better time to begin the journey into Celtic Music! I joined Pat on the air in mid-1996 and 25 years later, Celtic Café is still producing radio programs for our member stations around the world.

This segment I return to one of favorite type of shows, "Double Doses." Double Doses date bate to the very beginning of Celtic Café when it was Pat and myself and the show was called Celtic Connections. So the premise is two songs with some sort of connective binding between them, such as the same song with two different versions, same topic or air or melody, etc. And I kick it up a notch with a couple of triple plays!
