Okay, so THIS is what I’m constantly trying to make people understand about my sensory kid. 😅
It’s not that he wants to sit alone. It’s not that he doesn’t like people. Sometimes he literally cannot handle watching someone chew with their mouth open, seeing food on someone’s face, or having someone reach into his personal space.
And PLEASE… if you want one of his French fries, ASK FIRST. 😂 Don’t just reach over him. That tiny little interaction can be enough to send him over the edge.
Sometimes I even have to let him have his iPad while he eats so he can focus on something else and not have to watch everyone around him.
We’re working on all of this in therapy. I know he has to learn how to cope with these things, and we’re doing that. But in the meantime…
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, EVERYONE JUST BEHAVE. 😂😂
Give him some space. Ask before touching his food. Don’t make him feel like he has to defend his personal bubble.
It’s not about being difficult. It’s about his brain processing things differently. ❤️
