I met Gilberto briefly, he’s stuck me as a man who works hard everyday. Going from multiple jobs, always working and happy about it. I hope you get to take time and see your family again one day, I know they must miss you.

This is part two to our larger profile on our staff. The zine will be small but the stories are much larger.
Here we have Tonny. He is an amazing presence . You’ll find him working as a server days and nights. He’s hardworking, friendly and just wonderful. We focused the Instagram story for today on art in honor of Tonny’s own art and business. He was a creator in Brazil and come time he’ll be one in the United States.

This is the first story of many in a series. This is an expansion on a short zine with the names, previous occupations and current occupations of our staff. They’ll share recipes and vocab- so bust out the google translate.
The zine, per its format, is short and punchy. The abridged truth of our staff. They’re more than that.
Daniele: a lovable, wonderful woman working at peregrine. She works as a back server but in the morning she might be helping you out. Among her many talents are her linguistic skills. As a native Portuguese speaker, she did these interviews in Spanish and English. She shared her heart in both languages with such passion and conviction. No matter what life throws at her you will see her joking and smiling through it all. We can’t wait for the first snow of the year and Daniele’s bright joy reflecting against a white Boston winter.

Across the pages of Issue 1, you’ll find the work of artist Ebbi Boehm. From front to back cover and all the pages in between, you’ll get to experience their art and how it beautifully weaves together the words on the page.
This is just a taste of their work. To enjoy all of it, pick up your copy of of Juliet, the Magazine at , or online.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing the work of of Juliet, the Magazine’s Volume 4 Issue 1 contributors. Their artistic contributions have encapsulated so much beauty, grief, and curiosity. There’s something for everyone, and we can’t wait to share more soon. To kick it off, here’s a snippet of our EIC’s letter from Issue 1.
PS: We’re still accepting submissions for our Issue 2 of Volume 4. Submissions for Issue 2 close on August 31st. Send us your work! Or send us a pitch!

Hey there! Sam here popping in to let you know that submissions are once again open for Volume 4 of of Juliet, the Magazine. Issue 1 has gone to print (I’ll tell you more about that tomorrow), and we’re ready to begin preparing Issue 2
When I took over as EIC of the magazine, Josh and I talked about opening up submissions for the magazine, and honestly we didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t know if we’d get a single submission!
However, what happened is something spectacular. We received the most incredible submissions, I could’ve imagined. I feel so lucky to be able to share their work in Issue 1, and now I’m thrilled to open up submissions once again.
Submissions for Issue 2 are open until August 31st. I can’t wait to read your work.

Produced and managed by the staff of the award winning restaurant, Of Juliet is not only a fulfilling creative project, founded on Juliet’s characteristic excellence in craft, but also an experiment in developing economically viable support structure in the arts.
Contributors and staff share in the profit of the project. Like the restaurant itself, supporting this endeavor not only provides a unique and fulfilling experience for fans and readers, but an opportunity to develop skills and be paid for them, for those involved in the creation.
In addition to always available print options for purchase, Of Juliet, is always fully available and free to read online, with a Pay What You Can optional subscription model to support ongoing work. No payment is ever required though, and 80% of all revenue over expenses is returned to the writers, editors, photographers, artists, and more who help us bring Of Juliet to new life three times each year.
Of Juliet, published three times each year, is equal parts look deep behind the scenes of one of the country's top independent restaurants, and general interest publication featuring original essays and fiction, interviews, opinion, art and photography, reviews, and more.
Each year of Of Juliet is presented as a trilogy, with each part building on the last on a theme, before starting over each January. Volume 1, 2018's theme is the subtitle: This Is Everything I have To Tell You. Along with the themes and threaded narratives of the year are collectible cover designs. Don't miss one!
Current issues are available at the restaurant and at a growing number of stockists, single copies as well as 3-issue subscriptions may also be purchased online: OfJuliet.com
