Kirk & Corey Hit the Road In June 2025, Corey and I decided to rent out our house and travel in our truck and fifth wheel for the next year with our two pups (Beau and Titus).

For our second stop on the way to San Antonio, we stayed the night at the Caverns of Sonora. While there, we took the caverns tour. What an amazing cave tour. The tour was about an hour and a half, we walked almost two miles, and went down about 150 feet. We visited the crystal palace, the white giants, baby grand canyon, and the valley of ice to name a few of the sites. The photos I took don't do it justice.

We had a great time in Las Cruces and El Paso, but it was time to move on. Today was a travel day on our way to San Antonio and we found a neat little oasis in the middle of the Texas desert to spend the night. Balmorhea State Park.

Our time in Las Cruces is almost up. What a charming place to spend a week. We loved the view of the Organ Mountains just beyond the city and the weather has been awesome! Our first sightseeing trip was to visit the road runner statue on top of the hill overlooking Las Cruces. This statue is made of recycled items. Pretty cool identifying the items used to create it. We took a day trip to Alamogordo and visited the Whites Sands Nation Park. We hiked to the Fillmore Canyon waterfall in the Organ Mountains and to the Aztec caves in El Paso. We also got to spend the day in El Paso and visited an old buddy. We will definitely be making our way back here on future trips. Time to start prepping for the trip to San Antonio.
