Check out this beautiful black otter kit out of my doe Moon!

When I started breeding rabbits, it was always one of my dreams to have a black otter. For some reason, they are hard to find for sale in California though and despite otters being possible to get out of the rabbits I have, they just seem to be a dime in a dozen and I would never get any. So while this little bug may be common to some, it is priceless to me. I cannot wait to see how it grows out! 😍 Also, to add, I not only got a black otter out of her but also 2 chocolate otters! I am over the moon about this current litter! (Pun intended haha)

Someone needed a little assistance this morning with getting their b***y cleaned. And apparently my spa (aka my sink water) is so good, it resulted in a nap in the middle of it too.

Btw, this is the little sweetie who mama bit up when it was born outside of the nest box. Its wounds are healing so nicely and it is doing well! 🤍 I think this sugar butt needs a name btw, I'm all ears to ideas! But keep it space themed because their mamas name is Moon! 🥰

If you breed and raise rabbits I cannot express enough how often you need to check on the kits daily. Multiple times as well. I don't care what anybody tells you, never leave the nest box be and just assume mama is doing all of the work. Moms of all species could use some help with the crotch goblins. So today we did just that.

About to straight up lose my dadgum mind if I see another "mama rabbit" having her "kits" on the wire or "nursing" her "kits" like a friggen golden retriever. Iykyk...yuck.

Fresh, new little lives.

I cannot wait to watch this litter grow! 😍

We welcomes 8 kits out of my lynx doe, Moon today. Every kit I keep out of this litter will have a space themed name too to honor their mama who is seriously so special to me.

I totally thought she had 7 earlier today but apparently I suck at counting. Math is hard. It's even more hard though when they're crawling to the back of the nest when you're trying to count too. 😂 Little Houdini's!

I know I've been gone for a hundred years off of here, I promise to get back into my regular content too, but let's set aside rabbit and homestead content for a moment because I'm a human who needs a vulnerable vent sesh.

Ready?

Not everyone will like you or love you. Not everyone will enjoy you or want you. Not everyone will see you or hear you and not everyone will understand you or want to either.

No matter who you are, that hurts to realize and go through. But for someone with a mind like mine, it brings a whole other level of complexity with it that I believe most others aren't aware of.

When friendships end it hurts no matter who you are or who did what, I know that. But when someone like me with AuDHD (Autism + ADHD) is involved, it brings an extremely overwhelming amount of complex confusion and distress. It's not that I don't get the concept of someone not vibing with me anymore and wanting to walk away, I do. It's the "why" and "how" that gets me the most.

How can I do the absolute best I can to be the biggest walking "Golden Rule" alive in my relationships and still get snipped? Isn't that what people want in friendships? To be treated with kindness, compassion and have a steady line of communication? That's exactly what I need in a friend? So why is it that when I do this - I fall flat? Do I just suck at being a friend? Do I suck at selecting friends? Am I too much? Or am I just difficult to be friends with? And how do I get around this? All of this flies around my mind relentlessly. And it sucks. I wish so badly that I could just see the world and what others want with allistic eyes sometimes. Even for a moment so I could navigate through life easier.

I would totally end this by saying "cheers to change and lessons learned!" but I honestly can't because once again this crap bums me out and actually discourages and deters me so much from wanting to acquire friendships again - despite longing for it deeply and needing to unmask with others. I know things will get brighter too, and I'm okay, but these struggles are honest and very real for me.

If you struggle with all of this too, I sympathize with you. Know I'm in your corner and I see you fully. I promise. And I'm so sorry it's extra hard for you too. *hugs*

I built a rabbitry app, and the first thing I fixed was the part everybody hates.

You're in the barn. The litter's three weeks old, you've got a kit in one hand and your phone in the other — and the app just… spins. No signal. Metal roof, back of the property, dead zone. So you thumb the number into your Notes app, or scribble it on the feed bag, or tell yourself you'll remember it later.

(You won't. I never did.)

That's the part of rabbitry software that never sat right with me. Your records should work where your rabbits actually are — not where the Wi-Fi is.

So OmniBurrow is built barn-first. Airplane mode, dead zone, a county fair building with 200 people on one tower — doesn't matter. You log the weight, the health check, the litter, the sale. It saves on your phone right there. When you walk back up to the house and your signal comes back, it syncs on its own. No spinner. No "are you still connected?" No lost number.

We're closing in on release and I'm genuinely curious:

What's your system right now when the signal's gone? The Notes app? Scribbled on a feed bag? A whiteboard in the barn? Pure memory and hope? Comment below — the duct-tape versions are half the reason I started building this. 🐰
