MESSAGE!!!

Shirley Murdock shared this with me and it made me smile.
This is a promotional flyer from 1997. I was just starting out doing my first play tour. Notice the first date was blacked out because tickets weren’t selling.  All I knew was I wanted to make enough money to take care of my mother. I was 28, scared, worried, didn’t know if I was going to make it!

But now, here today on my 56th birthday, 28 years later… If I could have, I would have told my younger self, “Hold on kid, you’re on the right track. Keep pushing, keep praying, stay focused, drown out the noise and keep working your ass off and you’ll get there.” But I didn’t need to. Those words were already inside of my soul.

To anyone out there who is doubting themselves like I was back at 28, I want you to think about this: Where would I be had I given up?

DON’T YOU DARE GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM!!
Let my life speak to your hope.

It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. I’m living proof.

I love y’all and thank you for riding with me all these years.
