🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸
Today, the Marine Corps League St. Joseph Valley Detachment #95 and the Devil Dog’s Den pause to remember a morning that forever changed our nation.
At 8:46 AM, the moment American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center, we ask our members, families, friends, and community to join us in a moment of silence and remembrance.
For those few moments, wherever you may be, stop.
Remember the lives that began that morning like any other day and never made it home.
Remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military personnel, first responders, and ordinary Americans who ran toward danger when every instinct told them to run away.
Remember the families who lost someone they loved and the thousands whose lives were forever changed.
And remember what happened afterward.
For a time, Americans looked at one another differently. Strangers helped strangers. Communities stood together. Flags appeared on porches, over highways, in windows, and in the hands of people who simply needed to say, “We are still here.”
Twenty-five years have passed, but remembrance does not have an expiration date.
Today we honor the fallen.
We honor the heroes.
We honor those who served in the years that followed.
And we remember the strength that comes when Americans stand together.
At 8:46 AM, please join us in silence.
May we never forget their names.
May we never forget their sacrifice.
May we never forget September 11, 2001.
🇺🇸 United we stood. United we remember.
