It's almost here!!!! Harvest Day is Saturday, Octobr 4th from 9am-3pm and there will be plenty of family friendly fun for everyone. Bring the kids downtown and enjoy shopping vendors, local shops, and food. Children's activities and loads of fun for a beautiful fall day in downtown Clarksville, VA!!!

During the month of October, Campus Connect at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center will be hosting a donation drive and pet photo contest for Halifax County Animal Control's Shelter!

Starting tomorrow, October 1st, you can donate an item and submit a photo of your pet for a chance to be featured in the Gazette Virginian! All pets are eligible to be entered, whether they have fur, scales, feathers, or hooves! If you don't have a pet to participate, please feel free to still donate. This event is open to anyone, so please spread the word!

Our donation station will be in the 820 Bruce Street Building front lobby, and a sign-in sheet will be available at the front desk for entries as well. Submissions will be closed on October 28th, and we will have a Facebook post for people to vote on their favorite pet! Then the winner will be announced on Facebook on November 3rd.
