I know I haven’t posted much here lately, I’ve moved with my fiancée to Worcester where she works as a hospitalist physician but I’m still in Chicopee a few times a month, at least until we move down south next year.
That being said, gotta share at least the exceptional meals when I have them and let me tell you this meal from Duro West African Cuisine was exactly that. I came here for a wing Wednesday probably a year ago and the chicken was excellent then, this is my first time trying the rest of their menu.
This is Efo Riro with goat, eaten with Eba fufu. The efo riro is mostly spinach and west African spices. Savory, herbaceous, and amazing. They asked me when I ordered how spicy I wanted it and I told them “my fiancée is a real west African,” so the spice on this is advanced, but they can make it mild to your liking. Eba is cassava (a starchy root vegetable similar to a yam) and mostly flavorless like any other starchy root vegetable but it’s the perfect backdrop to such a flavorful and spicy stew.
As for the future of this page, I imagine I’ll make the odd post here or there when I come across something exceptional or necessary while I’m still in the state, but not nearly what it used to be, sorry to disappoint but life must go on and mine is taking me on a new adventure to new heights! If all goes well I’ll be back in about 5 years with a law degree, a bar card, and perhaps some wrongs to right.
