Two more Smart Preso-powered shows wrapped! That brings us to 8 shows and counting—with more events lining up to get on board.
Our operator, Tyler, ran Smart Preso in San Francisco for an event featuring 7 unique LED surfaces. He used a system that was 100% Mac based hardware, as there was zero need for frame lock.
Luke was in Las Vegas, on a large scale show, using a hybrid Mac/Windows Smart Preso system. All production work was managed from a pair of Mac mini devices, while delivering all audience facing output from a network of Purple Player prototype servers, so that frame lock across 4K+ LED screens could be achieved. The network of Purple Players drove a total of 28 million pixels across all LED surfaces.
One of the greatest strengths of Smart Preso is its ability to not only work cross-platform, but do so using a system comprised of both Mac and Windows devices. This allows users to leverage the advantages of each operating system for the various needs of production. By using Mac-based devices on the front end, operators can accept friendly media formats such as ProRes, while optimizing the moving of data across Apple’s thunderbolt architecture. Meanwhile, as media is pushed to our Purple Player devices, they are then able to use their massive processing power to quickly convert ProRes media to Windows friendly formats and leverage the power and technology of nVidia GPU to produce frame locked output for expansive LED surfaces.
In addition to using Smart Preso as the media server in Las Vegas, Pixel Mosaic also created content for various looks, including walk-in, presentation, and award show backgrounds.
Smart Preso continues to gain serious momentum, and we're thrilled to run it for events of all sizes. To learn more or get complimentary database management, which is still available for a limited time, sign up at www.smartpreso.com before the offer ends.
