The question we get often is, do you need proofreading in addition to the translation? Short answer: it’s up to you! Maybe it is not financially feasible for you to have it translated and THEN proofread. We’ve done it both ways. We done a straight translation and uploaded it to KDP. We’ve also (for ourselves and others) done the translation, then a proofread by a foreign language editor. We can also do your foreign language proofreading. The cost depends on your word count so if that is something you’re interested in, let us know and we can price it for you.
Did you know that in Germany, you run a risk of losing your right to your work if you use a German translator who resides in Germany? Insane but true. Translators located in Germany translator own the copyright to your book in German as work product. You could get an ironclad agreement in advance but why risk it? That’s why even if you don’t use OUR service, look for a German translator located in another country other than Germany.
