Lakeside Beach will be closed to the general public on July 4th, 2022. Only pass holders or vouchers will be accepted. Lakeshore Blvd. will also be closed to through traffic from 5:00 am until the completion of the fireworks display.

Beach/Gate Attendant

Want to work at beautiful Lake Tahoe this summer?
Lakeside Park Association is looking for seasonal full-time & part-time employees to work for Lakeside Beach this summer in South Lake Tahoe at Stateline. The job will be from Thursday May 26th, 2022, until Sunday, September 11th, 2022. Pay is $18 per hour. Must be able to work 4th of July. Lakeside Beach will be open from 9 am to 9 pm, 7 days a week but hours may be shortened due to weather. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Rain, wind, blowing sand, mild smoke, heat, cold, etc. are all possibilities.
The Gate Attendant position will assist customers at the gate of the beach, as well as within the beach area. Applicants must be able to promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests while at work and must express an upbeat enthusiastic attitude. Customer service experience is preferred but not required for the job.

Duties Include but are not limited to:
Take Credit Card payments on a Samsung Point-of-Sale system (Lakeside Beach does NOT accept cash), and affix wristbands on the guests.
Make sure that no prohibited items (glass bottles, alcohol, drugs) are brought onto the beach by checking coolers upon entry to the beach.
Provide excellent customer service. Present yourself in a clean and professional manner.
Be able to handle a high volume of customers
Be dependable and adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise.
Keep pathways clean. Check, clean and restock restrooms.
Patrol the beach for guests without wristbands, alcohol, and or drug use.
For those with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, we may also have you drive our electric, 15 passenger shuttle around the neighborhood to pick up and drop off guests within our association boundaries.

Lakeside Beach is closed for the season. The gate is unlocked from 9am-5pm for the public's enjoyment. Please be respectful of the beach, and clean up after yourself. THERE ARE NO AMENITIES ON LAKESIDE BEACH DURING THE OFF SEASON MONTHS.

Remember the beach is under 24/7 video and sound surveillance as well as monitored nightly by Security.

The purpose of this position is to verify that all patrons visiting the beach are following the rules of Lakeside Beach. The Beach Patrol position also makes sure that no prohibited items enter the beach. The season is from May 24th to September 9th. The pay is based on experience which is preferred but not required. Part time and full time positions are available.

ROAD CLOSURE IN EFFECT 7/4/2019

Lower Lakeside Park will be closed from 6am-11pm except for local traffic with neighborhood access permits. If you live on an affected street please contact the Lakeside Park Association office for your neighborhood access permit.

Lakeshore Blvd. will be emergency responders and staff parking only, so please use other modes of transportation when coming to Lakeside Beach on the 4th.

Under the direction of the Water Manager performs skilled and semi-skilled work at the District’s water treatment plant and distribution system. The Water Treatment Operator will perform routine inspections, lubrication, servicing, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment and facilities as well as assist with the operation of water plant equipment, distribution system appurtenances and various water quality monitoring tasks.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for “on-call” / stand-by response duties for after hour distribution system and water plant operational emergencies
Assist in operating water plant equipment by reading meters and gauges, operating valves, pumps, and other controls to adjust water flow, pressure, and chemical dosages. Make calculations and record readings
Collect water samples and perform routine water quality laboratory tests
Basic computer work required for the entry of accumulated data into various formats and reports
Operate pumps and related flow & pressure controls and storage facilities
Perform calibrations for various water quality monitoring equipment
Maintain and/or adjust system flow and pressure requirements, control flows to meet customer demands including fire flow and minimum pressure requirements
Assist with various distribution system maintenance tasks such as service line repairs, distribution system flushing, traffic control, valve exercising, hydrant flushing, and debris clean up
Locate and mark underground utilities
Investigate water quality problems
Make scheduled and preventive maintenance checks on facility equipment
Safe handling of chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite, alum, and other chemicals used in the treatment of potable water
Perform janitorial work and grounds maintenance at the water treatment plant and business office while monitoring defensible space needs at all facility sites
Perform customer water turn off / on requests
Qualifications:

High school diploma or the equivalency thereof.
Two years of experience in Water Treatment Operations or related field
Water Treatment Operator Certificate issued by the State of California State Water Resources Control Board; Minimum certification required is T1. T2 preferred or the ability to obtain T2 within one year of hire.
“D-1” Water Distribution Operator Certificate issued by the State of California State Water Resources Control Board
Basic knowledge of computers, including ability to use, or learn within a reasonable time, the treatment plant's data entry and control system.
Valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record.
Basic Work Hours: 40 hours per week: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, daily (subject to change). Employee will take a 30-minute break for lunch and two 10-minute breaks.

Hourly Compensation: Depending upon experience

Physical Demands:

Standing; walking; walking over uneven ground; close and distance vision; full use of hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; driving vehicles, lifting and carrying (regularly up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 50 lbs., and infrequently up to 100 lbs.)

Environmental Demands:

Outside: Frequently works outside in a variety of weather conditions ranging from snow to +80° F.
Inside: Frequently works indoors in temperature‑controlled environment.
Fumes/Gases: Exposure to fumes from chlorine, alum and chemicals used in the treatment process and lab.
Noise/Vibration: Moderate exposure to noise, and minimal vibration from pumps and motors.
Mental Requirements:

Reading: Reads road maps, construction plans and details, instructions, work orders, technical reports, magazine and journal reports, safety manuals, letters, reports, memos and messages.
Writing: Reports, messages and instructions.
Math: Ability to perform basic math and algebra calculations.
Attention to Detail: Above average level concentration and attention to detail.
Repetition: Routine daily work practices, especially relating to laboratory work.
Judgment: Ability to work independently, prioritize work and make decisions regarding correct formatting of work and implementation of same. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work with others to achieve desired goals.
Social Skills: Ability to relate cooperatively with members of the public, and District personnel.
Communication Skills: Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts orally and written. Ability to understand communications from others.
