Against all odds I WAS in fact having fun 😅

Before we got into climbing, I remember thinking how brave and fearless and COMPOSED all climbers seemed. I truly thought everyone just had their sh** together and had decided pretty early on that that could never be me since climbing is basically the one thing that scares me the MOST.

But after talking to thousands of other climbers (from newbies to actual professional climbers) I realized that most people DO experience fear while climbing and that learning to control that fear is actually what makes climbing… climbing!

& while these unfiltered thoughts might not inspire confidence that I’m having a good time, I ASSURE you this was one of my favorite climbs to date 😂

nothing in the world can compare to that feeling when you conquer your fears!!

luckiest gal in the world 🥹

The original reason we decided to move to Tahoe was solely for the fact that it had all of our favorite outdoor activities in one place. Our first year here we didn’t really know anyone so we just explored and had adventures just the two of us.

And while that was super super fun, it did feel like something was missing. We spent the next year really putting effort into making friends and building a little community around us…. Which was kind of hard!! Making friends as an adult feels a lot like dating. It’s a lot of effort and a lot of time and a LOT of putting our socially anxious selves out there to maybe come out on the other side with a really solid friend.

But it ended up being one of the very best things we could have ever done 🥹

While the outdoor access here is incredible and the adventures are truly endless, I am realizing that’s not why we love living here. It’s 10000% the people that make Tahoe special and I’m so grateful that we found OUR people 🥹💕

I started vlogging this day to show you what a cool float this was but ended up yapping about how I love my friends lol so if you have any questions ab the float lmk!!!

If we bought these groceries at our local store in Tahoe it would cost us 2x the amount!!

Grand total is $504.60 & will last us 2-3 months!

Sentry’s watercolor picture at the end 🥹

We have been having so much fun hiking and climbing in Yosemite buuuut sometimes you just need a night off!!

We absolutely love watching the sunset over half dome in this little gravel lot (right by curry village parking area)!! & its even better with a cold 🍺 ofc :)

there are two things that I try to keep in mind whenever we plan out our camping meals

1. SIMPLE/QUICK
2. NO MESS/EASY CLEAN UP

One pan meals are my favvvv bc they always check both of those boxes and these elote steak nachos are one of those meals I could eat every single night!!

We brought our mountaineer stove on this trip to save some space & we could not recommend more if you want a compact but full force camp stove!

OKOK recipe ⬇️

You’ll need:
-sliced steak
-corn tortilla chips
-cheese
-black beans
-fresh jalapeños
-elote dip (lmk if you want my recipe)
-greek yogurt (or sour cream)
-salsa
-cojita cheese

instructions:
sear the steak on both sides, set aside to rest

add tortilla chips to pan and top with cheese, beans, elote and jalapeños. Cover until the cheese melts. Top with yogurt, salsa, steak, and cojita

soooo easy and you’re only with one pan to clean afterwards!!
