An increase in girls education postively improves livelihood by a large percentage. We intend to help increase girls education.
A 2013 report by UNESCO found that 31 million girls of primary school age were not in school, and about one out of every four young women in developing countries had never completed their primary school education. That number represents a huge number of unused potential : That same report suggests that educated women are more likely to get married later, survive childbirth, raise healthy kids, find work or create employment and earn more money as well as live a long and healthy life. Period poverty is another challenge we hope to reduce at Charlotteβs Memorial Foundation. We are helping those who cannot afford sanitary products including pads and disinfectants as well as places of convenience in their schools. Most schools in deprived areas do not have adequate places of convenience and so most girls stay at home during their periods instead of going to school. We rely on stakeholders and donors to push this agenda and in 2021 the story is not different. Covid 19 and its attendant economic challenges have become a hurdle we must go over. Reports of community spread are not very encouraging. There is still a lot more to be done. Support us. Thank you.
