We were having a Pan Africa Dialogue and I thought I should leave my opinion I stated there, over here as a way forward.. God bless you all.
We want a United Africa right? But this is the reason we aren’t able to achieve the Pan Africa Vision. A house divided against itself can not stand, we as Africans are meant to have one common enemy yet we celebrate the enemy and target ourselves. What is happening in South Africa even among the Black and White South Africans is extremely wrong and heartbreaking 💔! They are definitely illegal immigrants in almost every country around the globe 🌎, that doesn’t make them less human, the situation is also affecting the legal ones. Accountability must be taken no doubt but don’t hide behind the cottons and treat people inhumanly…
Let’s look into our conscience! Almost every one of us has illegal immigrants in one country or the other whether we are aware of them or not, most of them went to those countries to escape poverty believing that they could change the situation of their families from that country! they possibly didn’t have all the resources to migrate there legally, hoping they will legalize their stay as soon as they gather enough resources, some just loves traveling while others see what is lacking in their country in yours, which mean they have faith in your said country much more than theirs and that can spiritually help in building the economy of your country.
Now take note: when we say illegal immigrants are criminals, they are evil and so on, it means we are saying all the citizens of our own countries are faultless, which is a billion percent wrong! In every country you have the Good, the Bad and the Ugly! Immigrants or not, there will still be criminals and all sorts of wrong doing in our countries, crimes will still exist and if we understand it that way, we will treat everyone as human and as one irrelevant of color, culture, gender, class, tribe, race and so on, we will only look truthfully into a person character and personality one at a time by reacting to people individually instead of generalizing always, even at that, you don’t straight ahead judge or assume but make a tiny effort to understand more before outright condemnation.
Africans are the very problem of Africa and the day we realize that, the Pan African vision will be fully activated and actualized. Imagine within Africa which is one continent, you will have to get visa to enter some of the countries, that’s a failure and it’s unacceptable, it’s a prove of no unity! You go further to hear an African tell another African “why are you in my country, go to your country, you have taken our jobs, our girls, our houses etc… it makes me believe there is still a high level of illiteracy among Africans and most of us are still under slavery not chains on hands and legs but with our minds.
How were those things taken from you? When there is enough for everyone even for those yet unborn. Traveling is part of education, when you don’t travel, there are important things you will never know or learn and therefore can’t form an alliance, if you wouldn’t travel it doesn’t mean others can’t and won’t, if they happen to be in your country where do you expect them to stay? in bushes if not rented homes, and if they happen to make money in your country due to their hard work and invest it in your country by buying or building houses, establishing businesses which creates job opportunities, buy from local businesses and so on, who then is benefiting? Is you and your country not theirs, when they labor in farms, you have more food, they work in factories or trade, they spend their money in your country which improves the economy one way or the other. Most times the amount of fee this immigrants are paid when working, you as a citizen might not accept it…
The thing is, most times this illegal immigrants do jobs that the citizens of that country won’t accept to do because it’s their country, they can do a lot of odd jobs just for survival with the hope of giving their families back home a better life and changing their destiny with their own hands they are not ashamed of it, and as a result of determination it could make them more prosperous than an ordinary citizen in that country, then the jealousy, allegations and envy begins by those citizens who has no good upbringing, better understanding, no humanity or brotherhood, those nurturing grudges against the other countries and those who haven’t traveled to other countries to experience real life outside their country, those who just want to exploit others by taking what the immigrants have acquire for themselves, that’s why they remain poor and lazy even after doing so…
Not all illegal immigrants are bad just like not all citizens are good, so it’s absolutely wrong to constantly normalize attack on immigrants in the name of illegality, just fish out the ones creating major mess affecting the country and get them out period, treat them how you will treat a crime in your own country without being bias, and while you are at it don’t make everyone a scapegoat!!!
No African is better than the order, we are one and in one boat, if one sink all will sink, this is what is been used against us, our division and hatred for each other. Africa and Africans must wake, we are Pan Africa, United we Stand, Divided we Fall, No Supremacy. South Africa must stop 🛑 the Xenophobia attacks on their fellow brothers and sisters in Africa no matter what! it’s a shame for any African Country attacking their fellow race just because they aren’t from their country, racism among us must stop before we start crying of racism from the white people. This is my opinion.
