👇Final funeral rites for actress Beverly Afaglo set for August 7

The final funeral rites of Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Lashibi Funeral Home in the Greater Accra Region.

The funeral arrangements were disclosed during a one-week memorial held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Green Flavour Events Centre in Community 9, Tema, where family, colleagues and members of the public gathered to pay their respects.

Mourners filled the venue to honour the late actress, whose contributions to Ghana’s film industry spanned over two decades.

The event was marked by a symbolic release of white balloons, reflecting a sombre atmosphere of grief and remembrance.

The actress died on Sunday, May 24, 2026, after a reported two-year battle with cancer.

Businessman Ibrahim Mahama has offered 100 job opportunities to Ghanaian nationals evacuated from South Africa following recent xenophobic attacks and anti-immigrant protests in the country.

The announcement was made by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, when he welcomed a fresh batch of evacuees at the Accra International Airport on the night of Saturday, June 7, 2026.

According to the minister, the jobs form part of efforts to support the reintegration of Ghanaians who voluntarily returned home after losing businesses, jobs and other assets amid the unrest in South Africa.

👇One dead, two injured, three rescued after building collapse at North Industrial Area

One person has been confirmed dead following the collapse of a building at the North Industrial Area in Accra.

According to reports, three persons were rescued from the rubble of the collapsed structure, while two others sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

Eyewitnesses at the scene identified the deceased as a male worker known in the area.

Emergency responders say rescue efforts are still ongoing as teams continue to comb through the debris in search of any additional survivors who may be trapped beneath the rubble.

The collapse occurred at about 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, prompting a large-scale emergency response involving personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces.
