The Chattanooga Police Department announces the loss of K9 Diesel, who died on Wednesday, following injuries sustained during a SWAT operation. Despite emergency surgery on September 15, his condition was determined to be irreversible, leading to the humane decision to euthanize the animal. Diesel, a German Shepherd born in August 2022, joined CPD in April 2024 from Southern Coast K9. Named in remembrance of the Fallen Five, he served for 17 months, earning recognition in narcotics detection and supporting numerous SWAT and Narcotics operations. Known for his playful nature, Diesel brought joy to those around him.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help with two recent theft cases. A black 2023 Kawasaki KRX 1000 (4-seater) was stolen from the Altamont area. A white, gray, and black 2015 Can-Am Maverick Max 1000 (4-seater) was stolen from the Gruetli-Laager area. Photos of the stolen ATVs are seen here so be on the lookout. On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the school resource deputy assigned to the Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts was made aware of a student who had made threats of mass violence involving students. During the investigation, school administrators discovered that the same student had shown students a journal containing a hit list. Based on the investigation, the child was arrested for Threats of Mass Violence and transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. As this pertains to a juvenile, no further details are available.
