🍷 Wine on Tap at a New Jersey Winery? I Had to See for Myself

During a recent visit to Bellview Winery, I discovered something unexpected behind the bar: wine on tap. Even better, it led me to a red blend called Arcturus that quickly became one of my favorite local wine finds.

Want to know what makes this blend of Cabernet Franc and Blaufränkisch worth trying? Head over to the latest blog post on Stevie’s Local Sips and read the full story.

Wine on Tap in New Jersey? Here’s What I Found at Bellview Winery

One of the best parts of visiting local wineries is finding something you weren’t expecting. Sometimes it’s a grape varietal you’ve never tried before. Sometimes it’s a hidden reserve wine that’s only available at the tasting room. And occasionally, it’s something that makes you stop and say, “Wait, that’s a thing?” That’s exactly what happened during a recent visit to…...

☕🍷 Sunday Sip: Would You Try a Coffee-Infused Wine?

This week’s Sunday Sip featured One Nation 21 Joe from Villari Vineyards, a fortified dessert wine infused with Italian coffee beans and brandy.

The wine poured a deep, dark ruby color and offered aromas of dark fruit, subtle coffee, earthiness, and a touch of smoke. On the palate, dark cherry flavors took the lead while the coffee notes became more noticeable, adding a warm roasted character to the wine.

With its sweetness, full body, and smooth finish, this is definitely a wine made for slow sipping. The brandy adds warmth and sweetness without overpowering the fruit and coffee flavors.

🍷 Quick Breakdown:
• Producer: Villari Vineyards
• Style: Fortified Dessert Wine
• ABV: 21%
• Body: Full
• Sweetness: Sweet
• Notes: Dark Cherry, Coffee, Earthiness, Smoke

Villari recommends pairing it with chocolate desserts or tiramisu, but it also works well as an after-dinner sip on its own.

Have you ever tried a coffee-infused wine? Let me know in the comments!

10 Grape Varietals That Actually Work in New Jersey Vineyards

Chardonnay by Old York Cellars New Jersey wine has come a long way, and if you’ve spent any time visiting local wineries, you’ve probably noticed something—certain grapes just seem to show up everywhere. That’s not by accident. Between the humidity, shifting seasons, and shorter growing window compared to places like California, not every grape can handle what New Jersey throws at it....

🍷 Sunday Sip: A Local Niagara Worth Trying

This week’s Sunday Sip features a Niagara varietal from Plagido Winery that we picked up during the Uncork Spring event earlier this year. After enjoying it during the tasting, we knew we had to bring a bottle home.

This wine poured a pale straw color and had more body than expected. On the nose I picked up tropical fruit, honeydew, lemon, and a hint of pineapple.

The palate followed gthrough with notes of pear, honey, and tropical fruit backed by a smooth semi-sweet finish.

The Breakdown:
• Varietal: Niagara
• Producer: Plagido Winery
• Style: Semi-Sweet White
• Body: Medium
• Notes: Tropical fruit, pear, honey, pineapple
• Best Paired With: Seafood, light cheeses, fresh fruit, or spicy appetizers

Overall, this is an easy drinking summer wine that works just as well on its own as it does with food.

Have you tried a Niagara wine before? Let me know in the comments and check out the full review on the blog, tomorrow. for more local wine content.
