Love to see progress and love that small businesses can shine and show their work. Much needed face lift to our fire department. We cannot wait to see the Sunrise fire station get finished up. We are proud of our fire department and it’s good to see the support from the Fayette Township Trustees. Keep up the good work.

Be careful while traveling eastbound on 52 between Delta and Solida. Approximately halfway down, there is a ramped section of highway. Three troopers are stationed for traffic control on the right east bound lane where it’s the worst. It does stretch both lanes so take it slow

On this day of freedom, fireworks, and grilling with friends and neighbors, we’re reminded of the enduring spirit of liberty that unites us — and of those who helped spark it into life.

Pictured here is none other than the Marquis de Lafayette — French hero of the American Revolution, honorary American citizen, and professional party crasher in the name of liberty. Though his boots never stomped through Burlington soil in his time, Lafayette did tour the United States in 1824–25 to celebrate America’s 50 years of independence — a national hero welcomed by cheering crowds in towns both large and small.

Lafayette was just 19 when he joined the American cause. He served with distinction under George Washington, fought bravely in key battles like Brandywine and Yorktown, and became a lifelong symbol of Franco-American friendship and revolutionary ideals. His service wasn’t just military — it was moral, standing up for liberty in an age of monarchies.

Today, as we gather behind old courthouses and grills alike, we honor not only the bold vision of our Founding Fathers but also the enduring sacrifices made by generations since — in battlefields, in public service, and in our own backyards.

🇺🇸 From all of us at The Fayette Gazette, we wish you a safe and joyful 4th of July. Celebrate wisely, remember the reason, and keep the fire of freedom burning bright — even if it’s just in the form of sparklers and burger grease.
