Unofficial end of summer was a blast! ✨☀️😎

Once again, The Collective Entertainment provided music during the Millbrae Art & Wine Festival. Not just one, but TWO whole days of fun! 🤗

Such a great turnout this year. People love hanging out and dancing throughout the day, but once the festival is done at 5pm, Sixteen Mile House becomes the go to after hours party spot, and that's when things really turn up! 🎉

I had the honor of spinning with The Collective homies and Keith O ...Between the three of us, we had everyone dancing to it all... disco, funk, 80s, 90s, R&B, hip hop, and more! 🎶

Can't wait until the next one! Thank you, Sixteen Mile House for having us, and all who swung by to say hello! 👋🏽🙏🏽❤️

Still taking in what a special day this was ❤️

Hip Hop Day 2026 filled the Daly City War Memorial with music, performances, vendors, talent, community, and a whole lot of love for the culture.

I was proud to work alongside my good friends Kenneth ‘Kendo’ Dolar and Mixsterious , helping run sound for all of the acts and talent, keeping the music going between performances, and working with Nate Nevado Ray Reyes and Daly City Recreation to keep the day’s timeline in order and moving. It was an all-day effort with a lot happening behind the scenes, so my POV was limited to what you see here, but seeing everyone come together and watching each artist get their moment made it all worthwhile. 🎶

The biggest moment was honoring my friend, the world-famous shortkut , as this year’s inductee into the Daly City Hip Hop Hall of Fame. On top of that, August 22 was officially proclaimed DJ Shortkut Day in the City of Daly City! 🙌🏽✨

Seeing someone I know who came up right here, dedicated his life to the craft, represented Daly City around the world, and then returned home to receive this recognition was incredibly special. Nobody is more deserving.

As someone raised in Daly City who has also spent decades in DJ and Hip Hop culture, days like this mean a lot to me personally, as I know they do to so many others. They celebrate the people who helped build the culture while giving the next generation a chance to experience it, participate in it, and see what is possible when someone from their own community follows their passion.

Thank you to Daly City Parks and Recreation, everyone who performed, every vendor, every crew member, and everyone who came out and showed love.

Daly City showed up!

Thank you, Dolby, for always having me!🙏🏽

The goal for the Dolby Summer Social was simple... set a fun vibe while everyone relaxed, mingled, and enjoyed the afternoon together.

It wasn’t meant to be a dance party, but good music has a way of changing plans.

A few people made their own dance floor near the DJ booth, others joined in, and the background music became a moment. 🎶

Whether people are dancing or simply enjoying the music from the sidelines, it’s always about reading the room and giving the event the right energy.

I truly appreciate the continued trust.

Not every event needs a packed dance floor ✨

Sometimes the job is simply to set the right tone 🎶

Dolby brought me back for their Summer Social after working together on past events, including a holiday party that definitely had a different energy ☀️🦩

This time, the assignment was background music, creating a comfortable atmosphere where everyone could connect, relax, and enjoy the afternoon 🍹🍸

Knowing when to turn things up matters. Knowing when to let the music support the moment matters just as much 💡

I’m always grateful when a client trusts me to help shape the vibe, no matter what the occasion calls for.

I understood the assignment 📝

Sometimes the job is simply to set the tone ✨

Lord knows I love me some yacht rock 🛥️💦❤️

One of the things I love most about being a DJ is being able to create the right atmosphere for any room 🎧

The more diverse your musical knowledge is, the more opportunities you have to connect with different crowds and take on different kinds of events.

GOOD MUSIC IS GOOD MUSIC ‼️

Glad I held onto these 🎶🎧

I came up in a time when learning to DJ meant learning how to actually listen.

No stems. No sync. No perfectly gridded waveforms. No intro edits for every song ❌

You learned to beatmatch by ear, know your records, find your own mix points, and figure out how to make two songs work together even when they weren’t designed to.

And before having almost every song imaginable a click away, you had to dig. Record stores, crates, imports, B-sides, remixes… finding the music was part of learning the music.

I think having that foundation is a big reason I appreciate where DJ technology is today. I’m definitely not one of those “real DJs only use vinyl” guys 😂

Give me the tools... Stems, loops, cue points, edits, effects, instant access to music… all of it.

Because when you already understand the fundamentals, the technology doesn’t replace the skill. It gives you more ways to use it.

After all these years, I’m still finding new ways to mix, cleaner ways to transition, and different ways to push things creatively.

The tools changed.

The ears still matter.

Last-minute decisions 🫨

I wanted to change up the vibe, and this idea hit me at the last second 💡🎶

I doubled the track so I could set the loop ahead of time, then cued up the next one. I wasn’t completely confident it would work, but it made sense in my head. 😂

Creativity can come at a risk, but, luckily, it ended up being pretty damn cool, if I do say so myself ✨

Two completely different vibes.

This is when transitions matter.
