This week on The Grind presented by Bank of Clarendon is Sumter P15's
Maddy Long.

Maddy first picked up a softball around 7 years old. Once the sport got its grips on her, it didn't let go. Maddy stepped away at times, once to focus on academics as a junior before electing not to play in college. Every time, the sport called her home.

This week on The Grind, presented by Bank of Clarendon, is Sumter Lady Legend and former Sumter High standout Maddy Long.

Maddy is the type of player every coach loves to have: smart, hardworking, dependable. She was so coachable, that one of her former coaches decided to make her a coach in her own right. She spent the spring working with the Sumter High JV before playing her last season of softball as a player this summer with the Lady Legends, where she helped lead a push to the state championship game.
