I just got back from presenting Grand Larceny and a behind the scenes look for a class this morning. Desoto Arts Institute is once again sponsoring the Digital Media Arts program at DeSoto County Career Technology Center West Campus. Synopsis:
"Big Tent" is a heartwarming and comedic short film about a dad who takes his reluctant pr***en daughter and son on a camping trip to bond and make memories. Despite a series of humorous mishaps and the dad's inexperience, the family grows closer together. This film captures the essence of family and perseverance.
Casting for the following roles:
Nate (Dad)
- Male, 35ish, Caucasian
- A store management hopeful who is eager to bond with his kids.
- Character traits: Clumsy, well-meaning, determined, and humorous.
- The role of Nate requires physical comedy and comedic timing.
Mom
- Female, 35ish, Caucasian
- Concerned and caring mother, supportive yet skeptical of Nate's camping skills.
Donny
- Male, Caucasian, portrays a 10 year old
- Energetic, enthusiastic about camping and fishing, doesn’t see Dad’s flaws.
- Character traits: Innocent, eager, playful..
Robby
- Female, Caucasian, portrays a 13 year old
- Grudgingly goes on the camping trip, starts off unenthusiastic but warms up as the trip progresses.
- Character traits: Teenager attitude, reluctant, eventually caring and playful.
Additional Information:
- Filming will involve outdoor locations, including a campground and hiking trails.
- Actors must be comfortable with outdoor scenes and physical activity.
