This interactive workshop, run by the Southbury Garden Club, is perfect for nature lovers, aspiring artists, and anyone interested in supporting our local ecosystem. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with nature, enhance your artistic skills, and celebrate the importance of pollinators!

Town of Southbury Southbury Parks and Recreation outdoor concerts are free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. In case of rain, the concerts will be canceled.

NEW THIS YEAR! All concerts will be held at the Gazebo at Settlers Park. Cars can be parked at the playground or in the nearby overflow parking lot. 280 Crook Horn Rd, Southbury.

July 7: 6:00-8:00pm “The Rakes“
The Rakes are a high-energy country rock band that delivers your favorite country and rock hits from today and yesterday. July 14: 6:00-8:00pm “Logical Pretzel”
Logical Pretzel is an eight-piece collective honoring the music of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. The band's take on Steely Dan includes infectious hits like "Rikki Don't Lose that Number" and "My Old School", as well as jazzy deep-catalogue cuts.

July 21: 6:00-8:00pm “One Track Mind”
Southbury's own, One Track Mind will take you on a musical odyssey playing both crowd favorites to forgotten gems. From Supertramp to Steely Dan, Aerosmith to Alanis, the Pretenders to Pink Floyd, Coldplay to Cocker - OTM's play list spans decades and genres that satisfies any musical taste. OTM has been playing in New Haven county's premier venues for well over 15 years.

July 28: 6:00-8:00pm “Jukebox 45”

Jukebox 45 is CT’s premier 50s and 60s show band. This group of talented musicians re-creates the most memorable tunes and great musical harmonies from the 50's and 60's, including famous songs from such artists as The Duprees, The Rays, Bill Haley & The Comets, The Monkeys, Little Anthony & The Imperials, Chuck Berry, Elvis, The Drifters, The Rascals, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Del Shannon, The 5 Satins, Danny & The Juniors, Dion & The Belmonts, Ritchie Valens, Jay & The Americans, and many more... The Town of Southbury Democratic Town Committee (SDTC) proudly presents Champions of Democracy, a celebratory dinner honoring retired Southbury Registrar of Voters Marie Greene, with special guest Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz serving as keynote speaker. The dinner will take place on Friday, June 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the Heritage Hotel, 522 Heritage Road.

The evening will include a cocktail hour, buffet dinner, trivia, prizes, a voting-themed photo booth, and live music. Lt. Governor Bysiewicz will speak on the vital role of civic engagement and the importance of acting on the issues that affect our communities both locally and across the nation. An exhibit of work by Melody Asbury, “Living with Animals, a View of Flanders and Beyond,” opens at Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust on Friday, May 9. An artists’ reception with wine and cheese is planned for Friday, May 9 at 6:00 pm in Flanders’ Van Vleck Gallery. Her work will be on display until June 30.

Melody will give a free gallery talk on Friday, May 30 at 6:30 pm in the Van Vleck Gallery, which is located at 5 Church Hill Road, Woodbury.

Woodbury Earth Day, Woodbury, CT is Connecticut’s largest and longest-running Earth Day celebration. Organized by Woodbury Parks & Recreation along with a team of dedicated volunteers, this beloved event brings together local businesses, organizations, and residents with the goal of uniting the community around sustainability, environmental education, and local pride.

This year’s 31st annual Earth Day Celebration is scheduled for Sunday, April 27th, from 11am-4pm, at Hollow Park. The event promises a day filled with enriching activities, entertainment, and opportunities to learn about sustainability. With a vibrant lineup of attractions, this year’s celebration is set to be the most memorable yet.

Jeff Manville Town of Southbury update includes:
** On April 2, 2025, Southbury Station Dog, Luke, and the Southbury Police Department hosted visitors from West Hartford Fire Rescue, West Haven Fire Rescue, East Windsor PD, State Police Troop L, in addition to representatives from K9s For Warriors and the record label Better Noise Records. Station dogs and their handlers were on site to film video in support of the K9s For Warriors Veterans and Station Dog programs.
K9s For Warrior is the nation’s largest rescue-to-service dog program. The organization trains rescue dogs to help veterans, first responders, and law enforcement cope with post-traumatic stress disorders, traumatic brain injury and other psychological challenges associated with working in these high stress service positions.
