Moore County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, December 9 due to forecasted weather conditions. ❄️

Bus pickup times and school start times will run two hours later than normal. 🚌

Employees may report on their regular schedule if they determine it is safe to do so, or follow the district’s Inclement Weather Plan. Please contact your supervisor with any questions.

Lee County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, December 9th due to lingering moisture on roadways, bridges, and neighborhood streets that is expected to freeze overnight creating the potential for black ice.

The delay will allow buses and other vehicles to travel during daylight, and the rising sun will support the melting process. Please exercise caution when traveling.

🚨 MCS Weather Announcement: Dec. 8

We are monitoring weather conditions and their impact on roads. All after-school activities will end by 6 p.m., and Driver’s Ed is canceled for tonight.

At this time, we plan to operate on a normal schedule tomorrow, December 9. We will reassess road conditions early in the morning. If a delay or cancellation is needed, we will announce it by 5 a.m. on district social media and school and district websites, followed by email, text, and phone notifications.

If conditions are safe, we will proceed with a normal schedule and post an update.

This year, more than ever, we’re asking our community to come together to help local families in need. All donations go directly to the Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care and 100% stays right here in our community.

We’re collecting:
