I’m making a post that has nothing to do with publishing for a change. It just seems important to point this out … There is a story being plastered all over social media about a Georgia woman being charged with murder for taking the morning after drug to cause a spontaneous abortion. That is, in fact, bu****it. Abortion is not criminalized in Georgia for starters. In fact, abortion is not a criminalized offense in ANY state. So that’s where the lie starts falling apart. So, I did a little more digging. She actually was pregnant, carried the baby until full term, then gave birth and the baby died an hour later. When they did the post mortem, it was discovered that the baby has a TON of opioids in its system and that is what caused its death. When the mother was questioned, she admitted to having been taking opioids the whole time she was pregnant … lots of them … THAT IS illegal. And she was charged with murder for THAT. No morning after drug. No being charged with murder for having an abortion of any kind. She actually could have legally had an abortion and she would have never been in any legal trouble because they don’t do a post mortem on aborted babies. So … before you get all up in arms about something you read on social media, do your own research. Do your own fact checking or find an unbiased source and see what they are reporting on the story. The media is no longer what it used to be. It has become a tool to be manipulated to a purpose and not a good purpose in far too many cases. Division is profitable for someone in just about every instance. That’s the only reason division still persists. If there was nothing to gain, no one would waste their respective time and energy on it.
