Inspiring words this morning at the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers 2026 Awards Breakfast at from Dorothy Miles with Miles Berry Farm.

Miles Berry Farm took home the Dan Bremer Service Award for its involvement in a legal action on behalf of Georgia growers challenging a harmful H-2A regulation in court against the federal government. Dorothy spoke about preserving the rural way of life and her testimony was a highlight of the program this morning.

The Organic Apple Orchard Academy is a virtual event designed for aspiring growers in the Midwest and Northeast. Four sessions will be held February 9, 11, 16, and 18, 2026, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM Central Time.

The Academy will teach proven methods with insights on everything from site selection and disease-resistant varieties to bio-intensive pest management, efficient harvest strategies and savvy marketing for fresh and value-added products.
