Guess what, ? It's National Book Lovers Day!

If you love books as much as I do, this is one holiday you don't want to miss. But how should you celebrate? 🤔

Check out these ideas below. 👇🏻

• Shop at your favorite bookstore! (Bonus points if it's locally owned 😉)

• Visit your local library. This is a budget-friendly option for those who may be struggling in today's economy. Some libraries also have e-book capabilities, so be sure to ask about that!

• Read a book to your kids. This can be a fun way to spend time together and create new memories.

• Post about your favorite reads. This is a great way to support your favorite authors and help out your book-loving friends by suggesting what they should read next.

• Don't have time to read? Download an audiobook!

• Donate! You can help support literacy by donating to charities, or you can donate books you've read to libraries, hospitals, or teachers.

How do you plan to celebrate ?

Congratulations to my good friend, fellow editor, and now also client, Mandi Summit (Red Quill Co LLC), on publishing her first ever work, Horse Cents (https://a.co/d/iE7zKlM).

Horse Cents is the story of a young filly named Clover who likes to spend her allowance money as soon as she earns it.

One day, Clover grows bored of the items she can afford with her weekly allowance and dreams of something more extravagant, like sparkly horseshoes! Mom and Dad encourage Clover to save her money by opening her very own savings account at the Golden Saddlebags Bank, but Clover doesn't like the idea of waiting to get something new.

Will Clover learn the value of saving her money? Find out in Horse Cents!

***Includes discussion questions for parents and kids to have a conversation about saving money, a glossary of banking terms, and a glossary of horse terms!

And if you're looking for a great developmental editor, check her out on her website, RedQuillCo.com!

Shouting a huge congratulations to my client Joe Moss II for the release of his first book, Make God Famous: How To Go From Villain to Hero to Beyond Your Best Self (https://a.co/d/fegywNV)!

Description

Have ever you lost your motivation, struggled trying to find the motivation to get started, thought that you are destined for more but never felt encouraged to do so?
Maybe you always wanted to be your best self aka a SuperHero but find yourself to be your own villain. Or Maybe you wish you had more strength, energy, and resources to help more people with your God-given gift.

In this self-help inspirational, encouraging and action oriented book, Joe Moss presents how to go from villain, to hero, to beyond your best self with God's help to make God famous.

In this book, you will learn. . .

•Baby Steps: Don’t overwhelm yourself with the big picture. Break down your goals into smaller, more achievable, and longer-lasting chunks.
•Beyond the Beyond: You are representing a cause much larger that yourself.
•Do Your Part: God does the super, but you have to do the natural.
•Get In Line: Everyone starts at the back of the line, but you’ve got to get in it to reach the front. Make sure you are getting in the right line by listening for God’s guidance.
•Hire an Excellent Coach: Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready every time.
•Make God Famous: Use your gift for God’s glory and allow Him to stretch you outside of your comfort zone.

In his debut book, Joe gives us insights about how we can pivot from the villain of our story to the hero of everyone we come in contact with by God's help. Filled with inspiring anecdotes and motivational lessons, it shows us that we can make that change for the better. Start that change by reading this book!

It's time for another ! Let's learn some useful tips for your writing and speech, shall we?

Who vs. Whom

This is an area where so many people struggle, but you don't have to! Yes, that's right. There is a simple solution!

To solve this conundrum, simply swap out the who/whom for "he" or "him" to see which one fits. Here's an example: "Always remember to _____ you belong." Would it make sense to say "to he"? No. "To him" is the better fit, so now you know that "whom" (the one that also ends with an m—see what I did there? 😉) is the proper word choice.

If you can use "he" in place of the who/whom, then the word is being used in the subjective case, and you need the word "who." If "him" works best, however, then you are dealing with the objective case and need to use "whom."

Remember, "him" and "whom" both end in the letter m.

Please, make it stop! 😵‍💫

Apostrophes should only be used in contractions or to show possession. Occasionally, an apostrophe is used to show the plural of individual letters to avoid misreading (e.g., dot your i's and cross your t's).

This type of misuse of the apostrophe to make a word plural is known as the grocer's apostrophe because of how often it appears in grocery advertisements. (Read more here: https://www.grammarly.com/blog/apostrophe/)
