It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved long-time member and Spartanburg's former mayor, Junie White. Our heartfelt condolences are expressed for the family, friends and our greater Spartanburg community.

Update: Funeral Service is today, Thursday September 4th at the Jewish Cemetery, Greenlawn at 12:00 p.m. Rabbi Liebowitz will officiate.

Mr. Atchison, a renowned entrepreneur in Spartanburg, SC, owned the Yellow Deluxe Cab Company, which my mother and I frequently utilized during my childhood. I often relied on their services to visit Mr. Brown's Barbershop at the International Hairport on W Henry St Corridor for haircuts. On one occasion, Mr. Brown made an error on my hairline, requiring me to return to the shop from Prince Hall Lane Apartments Building 1 via taxi for corrections. Later, my cousin worked at a salon on South Church, across from UHOP Church, cutting hair for children and men until her retirement a few years ago. Notably, Mr. Atchison also owned this salon. His legacy as a successful entrepreneur is remembered and respected. May he rest in peace, his contributions appreciated.
