Cataldo Ambulance outlines services; corrects typo on bid amount

SPENCER - Representatives from Cataldo Ambulance appeared before Selectmen to describe how they would provide emergency medical services should the town award them a contract. Notably, they addressed a $425,000 quote in the Request for Proposals (RFP), which was nearly double the amount presented about six months ago. SPENCER/EAST BROOKFIELD - The Building Committee for the David Prouty High School project heard work is proceeding at “full speed,” in its last nine months, according to developers. SPENCER - On December 3 at 7 p.m., Selectmen will continue the process to contract with a provider of emergency medical services. Town adopts single tax rate

SPENCER - On November 17, Selectmen voted for a single tax rate in FY26 of $10.98 for residential, commercial, industrial and personal property. The rate was $11.74 in FY25. The vote followed a presentation by Principal Assessor Linda LeBlanc, who outlined options for exemptions such as small commercial, open space, and residential (non-owner occupied properties or vacation homes. LeBlanc reminded the board members they had not chosen to offer these exemptions in the past or pursue a split rate for residential and commercial properties....

SPENCER - A two-year-old Mastiff Boxer mix named Gunner was deemed a dangerous dog by selectmen following a public hearing continued from last month. The issue stemmed from an incident in August on the rail trail coinciding with a road race sponsored by the Rapscallion Brewery.
