Top picture shows pea-sized hail or slightly bigger and bottom picture showing strong wind gusts both taking place near Truesdale as of 9:45pm on this Friday evening. This system continues to slowly grow in strength, but this is NOT severe warned.

A cluster of thunderstorms continues to drop south and southeast along the Highway 71 corridor. Wind gusts up to 50 mph along with brief heavy rainfall and even some pea-size hail are possible through 10:15 pm this Friday evening.

Tonights Class 3A Substate 2 Quarterfinal game has been suspended until Saturday.

Spencer leads Storm Lake with 2 outs in the bottom of the 3rd 3-2.

The tentative rescheduled time is 2:00 in Spencer if the Staye can get umpires.

Because KICD will be covering the Spencer Regional Semifinal Softball game at North Polk on Saturday we will be unable to bring you the remainder of the baseball broadcast.

⚠️A few sites around the Okoboji/Spirit Lake areas have shown brief rainfall rates up to 3-4" per hour. Be aware that there are likely a few spots of poor drainage around the Iowa Great Lakes that experience ponding of water on roadways and rapid rises in smaller draws/creeks as of 8:15 on this Friday evening⚠️

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms continue to develop near/south of I-90 and spread southward through northwest IA. Lightning and brief heavy rainfall the largest threats with the small storms, but there could be some brief pea-size hail and gusty wind to 50 mph.
