A little trip down memory lane: This festival has come such a long way. It’s wild to imagine that the very first Crave started in 2017, which was just a few months after I started this page (which was originally to review local food spots that were really going above and beyond - and it spiraled into, well, an entire magazine 😅). The only other person that I knew there was Chandler of SpokaneEats and we were pretty much the only people in town doing the whole “influencer”thing. Now there are DOZENS of us out there all supporting local, and I love it even more. It’s like a big reunion! Getting to connect with local restaurants that you’ve never tried before and get to know the chefs who make the magic behind the scenes is food for the soul. Don’t hesitate to thank them with a smile - it’s the least we can do to show our appreciation for their art.

I was still teaching full-time, raising my kids, and going everywhere in town (and throughout the US at Michelin starred spots) with my husband trying to find the best of the best. Groups like Food Finders of Spokane didn’t exist yet, and both Facebook and Instagram were the Wild West. Now there are dozens of local people reviewing spots, and it’s *never been more important* to support the culinary arts instead of chain restaurants. 🫶🏻

Events like this bring the whole community together, and it takes so much work. 😳 Seeing how hard has worked to bring this together year after year after year is nothing short of inspirational. We are so lucky to have him champion chefs and restaurants with his whole heart. ♥️

This year they’re also partnering with The Davenport with a couple of other events, too. How fun! 🥂 I can’t wait to see all of you there!

The viral summer dessert is here! 😍 Find them in the Spokane Valley at Hot Pot & Pho, and they’re just $14.99 each. 😮 They are the best I’ve had so far in our area. 10/10

You’ll usually find a variety of flavors in their cold case to go, but if you’re after a specific one, call ahead before making the trip. And look how *cute* their summer-themed coconut cakes are on their profile - they’re decorated like little piña coladas with a tiny umbrella and straw.

🏆 The hill I will die on - the best burger in Spokane right now is at . 🔥 This beauty had my jaw on the floor with how unbelievably perfect it is. Juicy patties. Melty cheese. Vibrant pickles. Light, flavorful slaw with just the right amount of creaminess and tang in perfect balance. Golden toasted house-made bun. I mean, come on. If you’ve tried it, you know. 🤤 Tag a friend who NEEDS THIS. 100/10.

Bonus points for subbing the fries out for the absolutely spectacular spring salad that’s on the menu right now. I need the recipe. 🥹🥗🙇‍♀️

I know, I know… Durkins has had our top spot for three years, but this one snuck by it by mere millimeters and I can’t stop thinking about it. Will I still gleefully eat a Durkins burger? ABSOLUTELY. Still a strong 9.9 out of 10 for me.

I just realized that I need to update my top burgers in Spokane list. 😅 Is there a different one in town I need to know about? 🤔
