I talk about what it was like writing, producing, and directing The Basket—a film that ended up being sold to MGM. Sitting in a theater packed with people, watching it on the big screen for the first time, was surreal. At the Seattle Film Festival, the audience gave it a standing ovation. Someone came up to me afterward and said, “Making a movie is the closest you’ll ever come to knowing what it’s like to give birth.” I’ve never forgotten that.
