I have become a low key dahlia nut since moving to Spokane. They’re so pretty!

But this year the earwigs have been out with a vengeance. I’ve lost 4 big buds that were starting to open already, and I’m pi**ed about it.

This one managed to get mostly open, so when I found an earwig sleeping in it this morning, I decided to give it the day to open a little more and bring it inside.

Stupid bugs. I will win this battle.

I finally finished a project this year 😂 I knew if I didn’t get it done before this baby arrives, it’d be another six months.

And I’ve already been suuuuuuuper slow to deliver this one.

It’s so pretty. This floral print is one of my absolute favs, and so glad I got to use it.

Then I had to pop it in the mail before I tried to keep it 😂

Ta-da! Free curb dresser has a whole new lease on life 😍

I tried chalk paint to start, and honestly, I’m not impressed. It’s supposed to be easy, no sanding or priming required… but I had a feeling it was too good to be true.

Maybe it’s me. Maybe it was the paint. But I did two coats and ended up sanding it all off and going with what I know. Benjamin Moore Advance for the win!

Anyway, had a lot of fun working on this. Also happy to be keeping a solid piece of furniture out of the landfill and giving it a second life.

I like doing lots of random things, outside of just sewing. Like… rescuing free furniture off the curb and flipping it.

Ok, this is the first time I’ve actually done this 😂 but I love the challenge, and getting to pick out the colors and finishes.

Been a little quiet around here. Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe not.

I have pretty much lost my sewjo the last 6 months. Certainly not for lack of inspiration, but definitely lack of energy.

Turns out pregnancy does that to you 😅

Anyway, riding a bit of that third trimester nesting energy to try and get a bag done for my #1 customer (hi mom!). While nesting, of course.

As we start 2025, my biggest goal is getting in touch with what makes me feel good.

Physically, emotionally, spiritually.

And that includes my sewing, as it has a tendency to get out of control in a lot of ways.

So if you buy a bag from me, know that a lot of love goes into it. I’ve spent probably 5 hours on this one already, and I haven’t even sewn anything yet 😂

I am determined to keep my sewing something that brings me joy, not stress. And sometimes that means projects get put on the shelf, and sometimes I don’t come to my sewing room for weeks at a time.

Here’s to finding joy in creating, not stress in demands and expectations.

Turns out I can squeak out one more little bag 😂

I love this black shimmer vinyl so much. I should have gotten a few more rolls.

Ready for some pretty bags to go find new homes tomorrow! Come see me at the Audubon Park Masonic Lodge from 10-2 tomorrow.

Better be early though if you wanna snag this one. I’m gonna guess it’ll go quick 😁
