Oh hi! π it's me, Monica. I'm not sure if I've formally introduced myself on here for years, so here we go!
I am the owner and founder of Atlas Photography. I was born and raised in Spokane. I spent every summer up at Priest Lake, Idaho at our family cabin, so I also feel like Priest Lake is home to me (I'm standing on the frozen lake in the photo!)
Here are some fast facts about me and the business in no particular order-->
** I started out as a landscape photographer back in 2017. It took only a couple years to transition into human photography.
** I've photographed over 80 weddings
** I bought my dream truck in 2016 (a Toyota Tacoma) and named it Atlas (a long-standing name I planned to name a Great Dane someday... I now know i will never own a Great Dane haha). The following year, I opened my company, and I was struggling to come up with that *perfect* name. A friend suggested Atlas, and that was that!
** One of my forearms is about 1/2 inch shorter than the other for no particular reason π€·ββοΈ
** My husband, Josh, sometimes will second shoot with me. His style is shockingly similar to my own! He was never interested in photography until he met me.
** I had our daughter in November 2023. She planned her arrival perfectly, missing my entire busy season that year π She's pretty awesome, and I'm incredibly thankful I get to be her stay-at-home mom while also running my business. She's also a big reason you will see me most active with emails and sending contracts after 10pm π
** I will *really* feel like I made it as a wedding photographer when someone ships me to Hawaii or some exotic place to be their elopement photographer π
** I have a minor Diet Coke addiction.
** I am so serious when I say that this is my absolute dream come true. If you told me in my 20s that I would open my own company and be a professional photographer... I wouldn't have believed it. It would have been one of those "no way am I THAT lucky?!" moments
** I have always been the worst critic of my own work (which is devastating π
) but it also has been incredibly motivating. I am always looking for ways to improve, to be better, to excel.
Thanks for being here. β€οΈ
