It honestly blows my mind that there are ever open seats at in the Perry District. This place is quietly, consistently phenomenal - and if you know, you know. 🤤

One of my forever favorites here is the Duck à l’Orange. It’s one of those classic dishes that’s notoriously difficult to pull off at home, but Française executes it beautifully every single time. A perfectly roasted half duck, finished with a white wine-orange glaze and paired with gnocchi blé dur, braised parsnips, hazelnuts, turnip greens, and pickled onion. A little masterpiece that will make you feel like you’re on vacation. 🇫🇷

If 2026 is about better dinners, slower nights, and food that’s actually worth leaving the house for… this is where you need to make a reservation.

What trips are on your vision board in 2026? I’m already lusting after going back to in Walla Walla. It is one of my very favorite staycations in the region. Why? I’m so glad you asked. 😇

1️⃣ - It is in the heart of Washington wine country with over 100 wineries represented downtown and in the surrounding areas, but the Inn is off of the beaten path. Downtown is just a short Uber away with some of the best restaurants and wineries in the region, but when you relax here, you truly feel like you’re in another place entirely.

2️⃣ You can eat their house-made cheesecake du jour in a private hot tub while drinking local wine. 🥂

3️⃣ The proprietors know how to make you feel like a treasured guest without getting up in your business. I never physically saw them during my trip other than quietly sneaking a beautiful picnic basket filled with homemade goodies. Every single thing in it was absolutely delicious.

4️⃣ All of the details here are top-notch. From the fluffy bath robes to soft sheets and premium comforter - it’s waaaaay beyond your standard Hilton-type experience.

5️⃣ It’s just one more way to support local. By choosing to stay at locally owned spots, you keep dollars right in the community where it is needed most.

Have you been to Walla Walla yet? What are you waiting for?! 🥹

Congratulations to all of these incredible honorees!!!

2025 seems like it flew by, and I still can’t believe HOW MUCH HAS CHANGED in just one calendar year!!! The amount of praying and working and running and planning and crying and laughing that went into it with equal measure was truly unforgettable.

Some things will never change - my unrelenting belief that it will always get better. We were definitely faced with more than most people go through in a lifetime and I learned to focus on making the next best decision. One at a time. Small actions over a long period of time compile in the best way.

THE RECAP: I heavily focused on being outside, and I had the best garden year ever thanks to - more production of fruits and flowers than I could have imagined. We closed our physical office at after Will’s life-changing accident in favor of working from home. Our beautiful basement was completed by .designco and it is my favorite place. Big job moves made for bigger challenges. We went to Hawaii for the first time together and had the most magical experience at the on Waikiki. We shifted the magazine from print to fully digital. We had a beautiful website “remodel” by the incredibly talented and streamlined our work. We visited Napa for the first time together see my beautiful cousin get married at . Our family had been tested to its very limits. We celebrated our 12 year anniversary. Our oldest GRADUATED and the other two will follow this summer!!!!!

I could go on and on, but this year was definitely a mixed bag. Bitter with sweet. What I experienced and learned is invaluable.

I’m ready for a brand new year with the freshest of starts and a completely different life. Hopefully one with more quiet moments, rest, and big beautiful stories filled with joy and peace.

And I wish the same for you. ♥️

UPDATE - shooter down, and two victims in the hospital. There is currently an active shooter situation happening at the Shoshone County Sheriffs Office in Wallace, Idaho. We will be following the updates from local media, and praying for victims and first responders. I personally know at least one at the Sheriff’s who is a dear friend, and it is heartbreaking to see the situation unfold.

Hug your loved ones and let today remind us how fragile and precious life truly is. We stand with this community and with those putting themselves in harm’s way to protect others.
