“Candyland" at the Pennhurst State School and Hospital was an often dark playroom located in the Devon basement. The room featured strange, childlike, and faded graphics. Used by former residents, it became a haunting symbol of the institution's neglect, with remnants like rusted items and eerie art remaining after the 1987 closure. It exists as an unsettling relic of the past within the former institution's ruins.

Built in 1899, this poorhouse took in society’s most forgotten, the elderly, mentally ill, disabled, and those with nowhere else to go. Many lived and died within its walls. Records suggest hundreds of deaths occurred here, with some buried on the property in unmarked graves.

Paranormal Investigators report Footsteps, Doors slamming on their own, Disembodied voices and Shadow figures.

The basement, once used to transport bodies and supplies are said to be the most active part of the building. Many believe the spirits of former residents never left…

Norwich State Hospital, located in Preston, Connecticut, was a major psychiatric institution that operated from 1904 to 1996.

Originally built to treat the mentally ill and, in some cases, prisoners, the facility expanded to over 400 acres and 70 buildings, peaking at over 3,000 patients.

It closed due to shifting mental healthcare models, and most structures were demolished, leaving behind a legacy of intense, sometimes controversial, treatment history.
