Dandelions ~ Did You Know?
“To most, they’re just weeds. But to bees, they’re life. Dandelions are among the first real food bees find after winter. Yet every year, people rush to spray herbicides, wiping out what little nutrition these pollinators have left.”
What to Do?
“Hold off on spraying until blackberries bloom — a natural sign that more nectar sources are available. Until then, “weeds” like clover, violets, and dandelions are all they’ve got.
In many regions, this means mid-June or later.”
The Problem With No bees?
➡️ No pollination
➡️ No food crops
➡️ No harvest for us
What to Do?
“Skip the notion of a perfect lawn. Let the wildflowers grow a little longer.
And let the bees do what they do best … “
