Motorcyclist dies in motor vehicle crash

Springfield, Mo. – On Sept. 7, 2025, at 6:23 p.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at Grand and West Bypass.
Cullen Beshers, 26, of Springfield, was riding a 2006 Triumph motorcycle northbound on West Bypass. A 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan, driven by Jimmy Waweru, 41, of Springfield, was westbound on Grand and turned southbound on West Bypass into the path of the motorcycle where the two collided.
Beshers died at the scene and his family was notified. Waweru was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail for driving while intoxicated.

This was Springfield’s 16th motor vehicle crash in 2025, which resulted in 17 deaths.
