Have you ever tried a viral weight-loss “hack” you saw on TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook? Or are you a local fitness/wellness influencer who talks about health and nutrition online?

I’m working on an in-depth story for Western Mass News about viral diet trends and products flooding social media — from “metabolism boosting” drink mixes to coffee loopholes and other quick-fix weight-loss claims.

I’d love to speak with:
• Someone who tried one of these trends/products
• Someone who felt frustrated or misled by viral weight-loss content
• A local fitness or wellness influencer willing to discuss the pressure and responsibility of sharing health advice online

Please comment below or send me a message if you’re interested in sharing your experience on camera. I’m working ahead on this story today, so my deadline is flexible, but I’d ideally like to wrap interviews by around 5:30 p.m. tonight.

Yesterday, (May 19, 2026) students at Easthampton High School walked out of class and into the streets — signs in hand — hoping to bring attention to what they say could be lost if the city’s proposed Prop 2½ override fails.

Students told me they’re worried about more staff cuts after roughly 40 educator positions were already eliminated… along with possible impacts to programs like band, drama, and even the school’s “We the People” team.

What stood out to me most was hearing students say many of the signs they carried were actually made in class with the support of teachers they’re fighting to keep.

The walkout also had support from school leaders, including the principal and Easthampton Mayor Salem Derby, who said additional cuts could have a major impact on the district.

The override vote is currently scheduled for June 9. 🏫
