Research and study card pt 2

Day 2 of posting my oracle cards. The cards are front and back with the intent that things are nuanced sometimes they may look like opposite but often they are the different side of the same coin.

This card is all about research, learning, and appreciating science, art, and history. It invites you to read non fiction books and or to saying yes to learning new things. This side of the oracle card is more of the mundane side. Outside of spiritual books nonfiction books have normally comprised about a quarter of my readings of books in a year. I also love and enjoy watching and consuming content that educates me.

One thing I've always found to be true is the content that is on my fyp is so much different than most of my friends because yes I do have the occasional funny post or life post but a lot of the time I'm learning something more than just being entertained.

My research bug goes past my spiritual life it goes into psychology, anthropology, and so many other topics. One of my favorite books has been the turn away study, which is a scientific study that weaves personal narratives into the scientific research. Other nonfiction books that I really love is freakonomics and outliers, both of which have altered perceptions on the world I live in.

Research and study card

Day 1 of posting my oracle cards. The cards are front and back with the intent that things are nuanced sometimes they may look like opposite but often they are the different side of the same coin. I will share the other sides meaning tomorrow.

I wanted to start off with this one because it's one of the very first cards I truly felt was finished. I am a nerd and one of my favorite hobbies is researching and learning. One of the topics love learning about most is spirituality. I have completed courses on reiki and astrology. I have studied so much numerology I have given many presentations on it over the years. One thing I love about studying spiritual stuff is it's not for anyone else its for you and your practice. But also I have watched and explored things that are not in my wheelhouse but were interesting to experience. It brings the joy back into research and books. So often schooling and testing took the fun out of learning and researching but with our own freedom and access to the internet and books; we can educate ourselves. You are capable of educating yourself or finding resources to learn from experts.

Fun fact about me I almost only buy non fiction books because I am not a person who rereads things and I have ADHD so the public library due date of 2 weeks is the best motivators to finish the book. I buy these non fiction books as reference materials. I have books ranging from witchcraft, numerology, astrology, herbal medicine, flowers, home reno books, and other categories because knowledge is power.

We are powerful the first "witches" were midwives because they not men that practiced medicine. While I love science we also need to learn and study from holistic and traditional knowledge. I'm the type of girl who will always take my Prozac but also practice reiki and meditation, both help my anxiety. The powers at be have been destroying books and other physical media I think it's important to protect that and a small way to do that is to collect it yourself and support your local libraries as they depend on you using their services to get funding.

I am going through my Saturn return and for the last couple of months I have held my thoughts back from certain individuals. I held on to them in an effort to protect them. Protect their feelings and protect the peace. But what it ended up doing was destroying mine.

Last week I said a little bit of what I held back with love and care because I could see them struggling. It was not reacted to positively, quite the opposite in fact. I now know that it doesn't matter what I would have said I would have been the bad guy. I can not control how people perceive me.

Don't forfeit your own peace for the thought that you are saving someone else's.
