“Wildflowers and Barley was born from my love of creating. I enjoy making handmade goods and love the traditional processes that go with that. I made my first burned hat and thought, “I bet other people would love to do this. I asked my friend Grace if she would like to partner with me, as she does a lot of custom work on hats and denim jackets. She was all in. And so, our hat-burning workshops took off. We asked local shops if we could do events in their space. Word got out, and we started booking more events. It’s been a wild ride, and we are just getting started,” - Katelyn Klos, Wildflowers and Barley, Illinois Local Business of the Year Award finalists.

We are eternally grateful for the impact Springfield Youth Performance Group makes in its community!

Founder and executive director, Taryn Grant received our Community Hero Award last year, and rightly so!

In June SYPG's summer camp performed Beauty & The Beast at The Grant Conservatory of Music & Dance. In December, the group will perform The Nutcracker at Sacred-Heart Griffin High School. The dancers will perform at the Illinois Local Holiday Market on November 29 at 9.30am at the Expo Building in the IL State Fairgrounds! Don't miss it!
