Last week I was invited to tour and learn about the impact and need for programs at Developmental Center of the Ozarks. I learned a lot and appreciate the work Marissa and others are doing to meet the needs of so many in the Ozarks.

📍Lamar

After Fordland Saturday morning we landed on the other side of Senate District 20 for the Lamar Fair and Parade! Turns out it was just as hot there too 😂, but the heat didn’t stop people from coming out! We teamed up with Brenden Kelley for State Representative and passed out thousands of waters to parade goers!

It was great being back in Lamar and seeing familiar faces and meeting lots of new people! We also got to enjoy some great fair food from the Lamar Lions Club!

📍Fordland

Yesterday was busy! We started out the day in Fordland with the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the long awaited Project Pickleball and the Wild West Day festival!

We spent the morning visiting and shopping with local vendors and business owners, listening to blue grass from The Echoes of Dogwood Mountain and meeting lots people! Shout out to the Fordland Community Betterment Association for putting on a wonderful event!

About last week 🇺🇸

🏆 UPSET VICTORY!

Last night, southwest Missouri voters sent a clear message: they are done with the lobbyists and corporate interests that have been running Jefferson City.

Lori Rook for State Senate just defeated incumbent Curtis Trent — the Establishment favorite who was positioning himself for Majority Floor Leader — in a hard-fought 53%-47% primary win for Senate District 20.

She ran as the outsider who would fight for the people instead of the special interests. She took on the data-center deals, the utility laws that stick ratepayers with the bill, and the go-along-to-get-along culture that puts lobbyists first.

Voters chose the real conservative fighter.

This is what happens when regular people decide they’ve had enough of the corporate-welfare machine.

Thank You 🇺🇸

Over the last 13 months:

We knocked over 30,000 doors.
We engaged with over 50,000 voters.
We were invited into homes and prayed over daily.
We sat at kitchen tables and listened.
We made friends.
We lost friends.
We were cheered on and we were booed.
We laughed and shed a few tears.

We spent countless hours in the rain, snow and excessive heat.

We were chased by dogs, cussed at and even shoved.

We stood our ground on unpopular issues and refused to back down.

We battled and kept going.

….. AND you guys showed up
….. AND proved them wrong

I am beyond grateful for everyone who donated, took a sign, walked in a parade, showed up to vote, worked the polls, stood with me, put up with me and who believed in this mission.

Through the lies, the mud and tough moments we prevailed and I could not have made it through the last year without our amazing volunteers, my amazing team, family and the good Lord.

Team Rook is made up of believers. This wasn’t just a job or a race. It was about change. I am so proud of us and what we have stood for.
