Introducing the long-awaited new issue of Deitra Magazine: Issue XVIII (2026).

Issue 18 of Deitra Magazine marks a new chapter. A bridge between where we’ve been and what’s beginning to take shape now.

This issue brings together music, fashion, film, and cultural storytelling through long-form interviews, editorial photography, and the artists who continue to shape the world around us. Rooted in independent creation and collaboration, Deitra remains a document of creative lives in motion.

Featuring a collective of musicians, photographers, writers, models, and creatives who carry forward the spirit of the magazine.

Produced independently and collaboratively, Deitra has always been made by artists, for artists.

Issue 18 will be released in both Eureka Springs and Springfield, marking the beginning of a deeper connection to the greater Ozarks and the artists who call it home.

Release party announcement coming soon. đź–¤

ASK ANY CASUAL WILCO LISTENER about the band's connections to Springfield, Missouri, and you're not going to hear about the gold record that hung on the late, great, Lou Whitney's wall in The Studio — a Springfield institution that contributed to their double album, Being There, in 1996. Instead, you'll likely hear about the last time the band appeared in southwest Missouri, and the 20 years that had them playing practically everywhere else around the globe.

Continuing our Nostalgia Era, a look back at 2016 — a year when Deitra was expanding, refining, and coming into a bigger, more confident version of itself.

This Afropunk runway wasn’t just about clothes — it was about expression. Models weren’t mannequins wearing trends; they were characters inside a world we created together. Every Deitra show carries a theme, a mood, a hidden meaning, and this one invited people to fully embody who they were becoming. Backstage, conversations weren’t about outfits — they were about presence, energy, and character before stepping onto the runway.

Bold makeup, braided hair, artistic face paint, texture, contrast, individuality. Street style met vintage silhouettes and raw presence. The energy was fierce, playful, colorful, and electric — elevated by how deeply everyone showed up.

We had many strong, cohesive shows before this, but this moment stands out for how full the room felt — more models, sharper styling, a growing Deitra family, and a magazine clearly hitting its stride. Issue 12 was overflowing with fashion, music, and collaboration, and the runway reflected that growth.

Entering our Nostalgia Era, we’re looking back a decade to 2016, one of the most defining moments from one of Deitra’s most productive and creatively aligned eras. The Afropunk Runway Show marked a turning point for the magazine — a time when our vision was sharpening, our community was growing, and the work felt elevated in a new way. Styling leaned into bold, braided hair with an ancestral, tribal influence, expressive makeup, and strong silhouettes. The overall energy was fun, colorful, bright, and unapologetically expressive.
